Bamboo could power trains, planes, and automobiles for only $2.75 per gasoline-gallon equivalent at mature commercial scale and emit greenhouse gas emissions 26 times lower than conventional diesel fuel. It promises to be a more sustainable biofuel feedstock than corn and sugarcane.
